1. What is coaching?
The International Coach Federation (http://www.coachfederation.org ) defines Coaching as, “Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
In coaching, using validated tools and techniques, the client is able to implement his/her ideas into practice and also assess their individual growth thereby accelerating progress.

2. How is coaching different from counseling?
Counseling primarily deals with the past and is directive in nature. A counselor proactively provides solutions to an individual’s challenges.
However coaching deals with the present and the future – and it is an interactive process. A coach assumes that the client is capable of finding solutions and thus facilitates this discovery.
3. How is coaching different from consulting?
Consulting focuses on the betterment of the business processes and strategies. Coaching caters to the people element in a business and aims to develop individuals within an organization.
A consultant is usually a specialist who analyses the business and its standing in the marketplace. Conversely, a coach plays the role of a change agent within the business and aims to foster motivation and leadership development.
4. Who can benefit from coaching?
Anyone who wants to grow, change or evolve in their personal or professional life. Anyone who wants to develop or enhance motivation, attitude or skill.
Coaching can help you to move out of your comfort zone, realize your true potential and achieve significant goals.
5. How long does coaching last?
The duration of coaching varies as per the need of the client and specific business objectives. On an average, a coaching engagement lasts for a period of six months. At the end of this tenure, coaching can continue periodically to suit the individual and organizational needs.

8. What about confidentiality?
We strictly adhere to the International Coach Federation (ICF) code of ethics (Part 2, Section 4: Confidentiality/ Privacy)
The same is stated as,
- "I will maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality with all client and sponsor information. I will have a clear agreement or contract before releasing information to another person, unless required by law.
- I will have a clear agreement upon how coaching information will be exchanged among coach, client, and sponsor.
- When acting as a trainer of student coaches, I will clarify confidentiality policies with the students.
- I will have associated coaches and other persons whom I manage in service of my clients and their sponsors in a paid or volunteer capacity make clear agreements or contracts to adhere to the ICF Code of Ethics Part 2, Section 4: Confidentiality/Privacy standards and the entire ICF Code of Ethics to the extent applicable."
9. Medium of coaching?
Coaching is available through an in-person meeting, telephone, Skype, and occasionally via email. Telephonic /online coaching is the preferred method as it offers flexibility, time saving and convenience.
